Dr. Brian Schmidt
Costin Family Practice is excited to announce the return of Dr. Brian Schmidt to our Bellefontaine Community.
Dr. Schmidt brings a history of service and commitment to our practice. He completed his undergraduate degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene College and his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His wide range of medical experiences will serve us well. He served as a Navy physician in 2006, where he completed an internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Following internship, Dr. Schmidt spent 3 years with a Marine Corps infantry battalion based in Hawaii. He served deployments with the unit to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of US combat operations in 2008 and 2009. |

Dr. Schmidt completed his Family Medicine Residency at Pensacola Naval Hospital in 2012. Dr. Schmidt was honorably discharged from the Navy in 2015 following his service at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore, CA, where he provided family medicine care to active duty service personnel, military dependents, and retired military veterans in the area.
In 2015, Dr. Schmidt moved to Bellefontaine with his family. In recent years, he has provided family medicine care, emergency medicine and urgent care to both our community and surrounding communities.
Dr. Schmidt continues as a Bellefontaine resident and is active in the community along with his wife, Nicole, and their five children. He and his family are active members at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Bellefontaine. In his spare time, Dr. Schmidt enjoys many hobbies which include: outdoor adventures, hunting, fishing, and cooking.

Dr. Scott Costin
Dr. Scott Costin has been practicing family medicine in Logan County since 1998. He lives locally in the community with his wife Linda and their four children.
Dr. Costin graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's in Zoology in 1991. While there, he was a member of the football team. He continued his education at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Costin is involved in the local community and is a member of the Presbyterian Church. Dr. Costin is proud to be the team physician for the Bellefontaine High School football team, and also donates his time doing sports physicals for all athletes at Indian Lake Schools as well as Bellefontaine City Schools. His favorite part of his work is building lasting relationships with his patients. |

Dr. Art Costin
Dr. Art Costin has been practicing medicine since 1975. He lives locally in the community with his wife Diana.
Dr. Costin graduated from Wilmington College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and continued his education at Kirksville College of Osteopathy in Kirksville, Missouri, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree. Dr. Costin is proud to be the team physician for the Bellefontaine High School football team, and also donates his time doing sports physicals for all athletes at Indian Lake Schools as well as Bellefontaine City Schools. His favorite part of his work is building lasting relationships with his patients. Dr. Costin retired at the end of 2022, and will always be a part of our office but is enjoying his retirement. |
